The UTSA College of Business is pleased to announce the start of a new BBA program in Sport, Event and Tourism Management. The purpose of the new degree is to provide students with an opportunity to obtain a general business background and to specialize in sport, event and tourism management by taking specific courses that focus on sports and events, or tourism.
Students who obtain this degree can pursue jobs in all business and operations areas in the following industries.
Sports – professional sport franchises (e.g., MLB, NFL, NBA, USTA, PGA/LPGA, and minor leagues), amateur sports (collegiate, high school, AAU, etc.), nonprofit organizations (e.g., sports councils, YMCAs, and other organizations that produce sporting events), sports facilities (e.g., stadiums and arenas), and recreational sports (e.g., fitness centers, golf courses, tennis centers, country clubs, etc.).
Events – hotels and other event facilities/venues (e.g., convention centers, country clubs, etc.), nonprofit organizations (e.g., arts councils, historic groups, charitable organizations, etc.), event management companies, corporate meeting planners, sports groups, attractions, etc.
Tourism – destination management and marketing organizations (e.g., Convention and Visitors Bureaus, tourism bureaus, etc.), convention centers, attractions, resorts, etc. |
