 The College of Business learning community is designed to help you prepare for a business world that is increasingly diverse and global. To gain the global advantage, students are encouraged to explore study abroad and international business programs offered by the college. A study abroad experience can change your life. The college has arrangements with universities around the world. The International Business Programs office also offers scholarships to help defray costs. Expand your horizons in exciting new directions by participating in extracurricular activities. The Business Student Council, the college’s official student communication and advisory group, facilitates interaction between the business student organizations. Students can join a professional or social student organization and network with other business students in the Business Student Organizational Complex, located on the second floor of the Business Building. A variety of scholarship opportunities are also available to business students. All scholarships require academic merit, but some many also specify financial need, semester standing, academic major or other criteria outlined by the donor. Simply apply in the spring semester to be considered for an award the following academic year. UTSA’s College of Business is advancing the understanding of business by educating tomorrow’s business leaders. |
New Center Provides Students with Professional Development Services
Offering comprehensive and customized services for students and employers, the Center for Student Professional Development in the UTSA College of Business provides a range of academic and career preparation programs and services designed to give business students a competitive edge in attaining internships and employment opportunities. "The goal of the center is to transform business students into business professionals," said Dr. Lynda de la Viña, dean of the UTSA College of Business. "By combining theory with practice, students can develop a balanced portfolio of academic, career readiness and leadership skills to place them on the path to success in their professional careers." Existing academic and leadership components such as the Business Scholars Program and the Latino Financial Issues program, as well as international study abroad and business student organizations, are now centrally housed in the center. They are joined by an expanded array of professional development services. |
