UTSA's Ph.D. in Business Administration includes emphasis in five traditional business areas: accounting, finance,
information technology, marketing, and organization and management studies. The primary focus of the program is to prepare qualified candidates for academic careers in teaching and research.

Our admission process is very competitive. The departmental committees conduct a holistic review of each applicant’s
materials taking all factors into consideration – there is no one sole criterion used for admission or denial. The average
GMAT score of our Ph.D. students is 700 total and the average GRE score is 312. The average masters’ level GPA for
entering students is over 3.75.
