UTSA College of Business Faculty Member Passes Away

Dr. Rolando Quintana, professor of management science and statistics in the College of Business, passed away on Monday, December 12. Quintana was born in Cuba on February 13, 1958. He was preceded in death by his father, Rolando Quintana. He is survived by his wife, Maria del Carmen Quintana; mother, Hilda Quintana; step-sons, Sergio Lopez and Edgar Lopez; and six grandchildren.

Amber Rudolph Named Outstanding Accounting Alumnus of the Year

Amber Rudolph, ’95, was named the Outstanding Accounting Alumnus of the Year at the 30th annual Department of Accounting Scholarship and Awards Celebration on Oct. 21. With 16 years of experience in auditing, financial reporting and accounting, Rudolph has worked with small privately held corporations and large multinational SEC registered companies. She also has significant experience with U.S. GAAP and U.S. GAAS. She is the director of internal audit at Pioneer Drilling Company.

UTSA Professorship Established in Honor of Real Estate Visionary

The University of Texas at San Antonio College of Business received a $250,000 gift from Steven and Bruce Lee to establish the Quincy Lee Professorship in Real Estate Finance and Development. The professorship was established in memory of their father, Quincy Lee, a pioneer in the construction of quality, low-cost housing in San Antonio who later became a leader in commercial and industrial development.

The College of Business welcomed three new tenured-track faculty members this fall. Dr. Seok-Won Lee, assistant professor, is a member of the Department of Information Systems and Technology Management. His research interests include secure software engineering and information security assurance. Lee previously taught at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He holds a doctorate in information technology from George Mason University.
