MS in Data Analytics
Overview

The goal of The University of Texas at San Antonio Master of Science in Data Analytics program is to produce highly-skilled and educated data analysts who can transform the growing amount of data confronting all organizations into usable information for decision makers. Modern data analytics can be leveraged in a variety of fields including business, healthcare and national security.

Located in San Antonio, Texas, our program is unique because it leverages the college’s strengths in cyber security, health, bioinformatics and statistical analysis to create a well-rounded program. The curriculum combines a blend of business, information technology, marketing, mathematics and statistics coursework.

Drawing upon experiential learning, students will become data savvy professionals and learn the latest tools, techniques and applications used to transform data into meaningful information. Further, they will apply their education by performing real-world data analytics through intensive practicum coursework with strategic business partners.

The Master of Science in Data Analytics program is offered in two formats: a full-time daytime cohort and a part-time evening cohort program.

Core competencies include data analytic algorithms, predictive modeling, data architecture management and analytical interpretation. The program will focus on traditional business intelligence-oriented analytics as well as provide students specialized expertise in the areas of data science management and data analytic algorithms. Students will learn to analyze data sets and develop communication and visualization techniques to share these insights within organizations.
